2. Accomodation

 
Special rates for the WTIM participants have been negotiated with the following hotels. For those booking after the deadline, special rates still apply but subject to room availability. Participants should book their own accommodation directly with the contact person provided below. When checking in, delegates may be required to provide evidence that they are attending the WTIM (registration confirmation).

3. Transportation

Airport transfer and transportation between hotel and meeting venue will be provided to participants staying at the above hotels. For this, participants need to indicate in the participant information form the exact information related to their arrival and departure, and the name of the hotel where they will be staying. Participants staying in the other hotels should arrange their own transport and ensure that they will arrive at the meeting venue on time for the meeting.

4. Visa

To enter Thailand, all participants must possess a valid passport or accepted travel document. Participants who require a visa should apply for a visa at a Royal Thai Embassy or a Royal Thai Consulate-General in their respective country well in advance of their departure. For nationals of some countries, it may take up to two weeks for visa processing. As visa requirements change from time to time, please check with your nearest Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General for your visa requirements. You are also advised to visit http://www.mfa.go.th for more information on visas and travel documents.
 
For participants who are nationals of countries in which Thai Embassy / Thai Consulate-General does not exist, MICT have taken measures to facilitate the entry to Thailand of registered participants to enable their participation in the World Telecommunications/ICT Indicators Meeting organized by the International Telecommunication Union and hosted by MICT, Thailand.
 
MICT will obtain the visa authorization from the Immigration Bureau. Delegates requiring a visa must submit the following information:
 
  1. Their confirmation of registration received from ITU
  2. A scanned copy of the biodata page of their passport
  3. The date of issuance and of expiry of the passport
  4. Birth date
  5. Flight and date of arrival / flight and date of departure
  6. Name of Hotel Accommodation
  7. Email address
 
After the authorization is obtained, each participant will receive a document that they have to bring with them and submit to the immigration officer at the arrival checkpoint at Bangkok airport.
 
Please note that in view of the time to process a visa request under this procedure, a minimum of 10-12 working days is required. Accordingly, all requests must have been sent with the complete information indicated above, no later than 5 September 2012.
 
Delegates are reminded that they must obtain their transit visas before departure to avoid any difficulty with immigration authorities of countries where they have to make connections.

Please also note that delegates who travel from or through the countries which are declared Yellow Fever Infected Areas must provide an International Health Certificate proving that they have received a Yellow Fever vaccination.
