ITU publishes regional and global statistical reports, including the Measuring the Information Society Reports which include the ICT Development Index (IDI) and the ICT Price Basket (IPB). ITU also produces statistical manuals and framework documents to help guide countries in their data collection efforts. More >

Definitions & standards

ITU develops international definitions, standards and methodologies to measure the information society and economy in close cooperation with other regional and international organizations and through its thematic Expert Groups. More >

International cooperation


ITU is a founder of and key partner in the Partnership on Measuring ICT for Development; helps track the SDGs and the WSIS and Broadband Commission targets, and is a member of the UN Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activitie​s (CCSA). More >

Capacity development

ITU assists developing countries to collect and disseminate ICT data and provides support through awareness raising,  technical training, practical tools, and national and regional workshops for national agencies in charge of producing ICT data. More >
