Agentic, intent-driven end-to-end service orchestration with test-driven quality assurance for 6G networks

Abstract:
This paper presents an agentic, intent-driven End-to-End (E2E) service orchestration framework for 6G networks that couples deterministic orchestration with proactive, test-driven quality assurance. The approach introduces a novel intent co-creation process, where specialized agents iteratively refine incomplete user intents by adding operational constraints, candidate Service Level Objective/Agreement (SLO/SLA) targets, and cost-relevant options, culminating in a user-confirmed intent contract. Upon user confirmation, an intent-to-actions agent translates the contract into machine-executable actions that are aligned with the TM Forum product and service models. To maintain architectural integrity, the framework enforces a strict separation between cognition and actuation. To that extent, agents reason and plan, whereas execution is performed by the open-source Operations Support System (OSS) OpenSlice, employing its E2E service orchestrator and domain controllers. A key novelty is a test-driven quality workflow inspired by Test-Driven Development (TDD): SLOs/SLAs and associated validation tests are derived before provisioning, created in an initially failing state, and progressively satisfied as orchestration proceeds. We demonstrate the framework's feasibility by extending ETSI SDG OpenSlice with a multi-agent plane, message-driven coordination, and MCP-based tool access, and demonstrate feasibility via a catalog-driven event connectivity use case with measurable assurance artifacts and costed product composition.
