| The ITU Journal on Future and Evolving Technologies (ITU J-FET) has published its first regular issue of 2021, which focuses on research areas of high relevance to the work of ITU, and of interest to academia, industry and governments. This publication includes forewords of the ITU Secretary-General and the Director of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Bureau as well as a message from the Editor-in-Chief, and eight high level, original papers from internationally recognized researchers. These papers provide analyses into emerging technologies and forward-looking solutions around networks and communication systems. Table of contents
