Keynote 1: Building Green Networks Through International Standards​
This keynote explored how telecommunication networks consume an enormous amount of electricity and, as a result, have a significant carbon footprint. Working towards a sustainable digital future, the ICT sector must take action to reduce network carbon intensity.

This session delved into the challenges and opportunities surrounding e-waste management in African cities, particularly focusing on the conflict between traditional mineral extraction methods and the potential for secondary extraction from e-waste. It also enhanced Enhancing partnerships for the environmentally sound management of E-waste, from repair and refurbishment, collection, recycling and final disposal.​

​Session 2: Advancing Circular Economy in Africa the Importance of Assessing the Performance of ICT Goods and How a Digital Product Passport Can Help
This session focused on the importance of circular economy initiatives for the African region and the development of a Digital Product Passport. It aimed to explore the potential challenges nations might encounter in both executing and embracing digital product passports, while also emphasizing the role of standards and regulations for increasing durability, reparability, and recyclability of ICT products. Participants discussed the benefits of transitioning towards a circular economy model, explore the concept of Digital Product Passport as a tool for tracking product lifecycles and promoting resource efficiency and transparency.​
