Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI)

The 12th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) took place virtually from 13 to 15​ September 2021. The meeting was organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The EGTI meeting took place back-to-back with the 9th Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Househol​​d Indicators (EGH)​, which also took place virtually on 15 and ​16 September 2021. A joint EGTI-EGH session was held on 15 September 2021.

EGTI meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection. 

The objective of the 12th EGTI meeting was to examine the contributions received from members of the EGTI online discussion forum over the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items under discussion. The outcome of the discussions will be presented at the 18th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS).

The topics that were discussed during the EGTI meeting include 5G indicators (with a focus on adoption and subscribers), over-the-top (OTT) applications and mobile money services (jointly with the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators).
