Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI)

The 10th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 17-18 September 2019. The meeting is organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and hosted by ITU. The EGTI meeting was held back-to-back with the 7th Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH), which also took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 19-20 September 2019.

EGTI meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection.

The objective of the 10th EGTI meeting was to examine the contributions received from members of the EGTI online discussion forum over the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items under discussion. The outcome of the discussions will be presented at the 17th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS).

The topics that had been discussed during the EGTI meeting will include the measurement of the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G-related indicators, fixed-mobile bundles, fixed-broadband Internet traffic, quality of service, and international roaming indicators. Furthermore, a draft of the revised ITU Handbook for the collection of Administrative Data on Telecommunications/ICT had been presented for feedback by the experts.

The documents concerning the meeting, including the agenda, the logistical information and the preparatory documents for the discussions are made available in the EGTI online forum at: https://www.itu.int/net4/ITU-D/ExpertGroup/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=35
