Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI)

The 5th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 17-19 September 2014. The meeting was organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and hosted by ITU. The EGTI meeting was held back-to-back with the 2nd Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH), which took place also in Geneva, Switzerland, on 15-16 September 2014.

EGTI meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection.

The objective of this 5th EGTI meeting was to examine the contributions received from members of the EGTI online discussion forum over the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items under discussion. The outcome of the discussions was subsequently presented at the 12th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS), which was held in Georgia on 24‐26 November 2014.

The main topics that were discussed during the EGTI meeting include, among others: the revision of broadband metrics; indicators on bundled telecommunication services; LTE and M2M indicators; and the revision of the list of indicators included in the ITU WTI Long Questionnaire.

The documents concerning the meeting (including the summary, the list of participants and the presentations delivered during the meeting) are available on the EGTI online forum:
