ITU Online training on ICT/Digital Accessibility: “Towards building inclusive digital communities”, 6 - 7 December 2021, 10:00 – 13:30 Cairo Time

​​​The ITU Regional Office for the Arab States is organizing an online training course on ICT/Digital Accessibility: “Towards building inclusive digital communities".The training will be conducted virtually in Arabic language, during the period  6- 7 December 2021, between 10:00 to 13:30 Cairo Time, within the framework of the ITU-UNESCO Regional Digital Inclusion Week activities, and particularly Accessible Arab Region - ICT for ALL event.

The training aims to strengthen capacity in ICT Accessibility to ITU Members from Arab region, in particular for digital content creators and digital communicators as well as policy and decision makers in the regulatory bodies, banks, and telecom operators who are involved in delivering digital services and are interested to ensure that their public content is accessible to all including to persons with disabilities (PWDs). Furthermore, the course is also designed to leverage knowledge to project managers, website and Apps developers, digital designers, websites and Banks managers as well as telecom operators.

The training curricula will be based on the ITU ICT accessibility on-line self-paced training courses “ICT Accessibility – The key to inclusive communication"  and “Web Accessibility: The cornerstone of an Inclusive Digital Society » available on the ITU Academy at URL: https://academy.itu.int/training-courses/full-catalogue/ict-accessibility   .

The overall objective of this training is to provide insights on how to achieve development of in-country and in-region capabilities on ICT accessibility. Furthermore, the training will also include interactive sessions between the participants to enable feedback and theoretical and/or practical activities.

The training outcome is to empower participants with the key information on the topic to raise awareness and leverage knowledge in ICT accessibility topic and provide holistic information on the use of resources made available by ITU to support, local national and regional, in line with ITU toolkit “Towards building inclusive digital communities".
