CBS-2016 Exhibition

​ The CBS-2016 exhibition will take place in the ground floor of the Safari Park Hotel and Casino , Thika Road, in Nairobi Kenya.
 
The exhibition is a showcase of capacity building projects and activities across the world and best practices from academia and industry players. Member states, sector members, Universities and Centres of Excellence are invited to take advantage of allocated free space to showcase their products and services.
  
Space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
  
Please fill out the “Request for Exhibition Space Form” and return it to hcbmail@itu.int by 12 August 2016.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND TIME SCHEDULE

  • Exhibition space is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • The construction of the shell scheme will be done two (2) days prior to event at Safari Park, Nairobi. Targeted completion time is Sunday, 4 September 2016.
  • The installation of stands can start on 4 September 2016, from 09:00hrs onwards. All stands must be set and in place preferably by 17:00hrs.
  • Dismantling can only start after 18:00hrs on 8 September 2016. Exhibitors should arrange for their equipment to be picked up on 9 September by 12:00hrs at the latest.
  • Please note that the exhibition official opening will take place on Tuesday, September 6 from 09:30 to 09:45hrs.
  • Official exhibit hours are as follows:
    •      Tuesday, September 6          09:00hrs – 18:00hrs
         Wednesday, September 7     09:00hrs – 18:00hrs
         Thursday, September 8         09:00hrs – 15:00hrs
     
    Exhibitors will have access to the exhibition area before official hours. Please note that your representative should be available at all times at your stand.
     
  • As part of the CBS-2016 official programme, a tour of exhibition stands is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7 from 17:00hrs to 18:00hrs. Participants will have the opportunity to approach the different stands and listen to exhibitors’ presentations. Please note that all exhibitors should prepare to present their activities, products and services during this time slot.

DESCRIPTION OF EXHIBITION FACILITIES

  • There will be twenty (20) booths, with the following specifications: 3m x 3m x 2.5m white exhibition shell scheme with aluminum framing system into which the white lightweight panels slide. The booth will be mounted on a carpeted floor.
  • Panels, tables and chairs will be provided as listed below:
     
    - Each booth shall be supplied with two (2) chairs, one table (2x1m).
     
    - Each booth shall be supplied with two spot lights
     
    - The exhibition area will include two power sockets, and wiring to main power supply
  • The face of the booth shall have signage of the name of the organization/exhibitor mounted on the name panel/ board. Personalized signage for exhibitors will not be provided. Exhibitors should prepare their own signage branding of the respective stands.
  • The construction of the shell scheme will be done 2 days prior to the event at Safari Park, Nairobi. Targeted completion time is Sunday, 4 September 2016. Exhibitors will be required to brand and set up their stand by 4 September at 17:00hrs.
  • Wireless LAN (WiFi) access is available. Any special network setup needs shall be signalled to the host country as soon as possible (e.g. fixed IP addresses, firewall issues, etc).
  • The electricity supply is 240 Volts with frequency of 50 Hertz. The electricity plugs are 13 Amp, with the square pin used in most premises.
  • Information on spectrum allocation and usage in Kenya is available from the Communications Authority of Kenya. All related enquiries can be sent to: info@ca.go.ke. Please make sure that the band(s) of the wireless equipment exhibited (if any) do not cause any interference.

RENTAL OF EXHIBITION EQUIPMENT

  • Additional equipment, other than those provided as per the description above, can be rented at extra charge. Enquiries on the charges can be sent to itucbs@ca.go.ke.

SHIPMENT OF MATERIAL

For the shipment of material, exhibitors should contact their own transportation company and cargo clearance agent. You must specify that it is a temporary exportation and that the equipment is going to be sent back to the country of origin after the exhibition. Please notify the host before your transportation company sends the equipment. It is recommended that shipments arrive by 19 August 2016 at the latest to provide time for customs clearance.
 
A storage area is available for shipments arriving before the exhibition. Detailed information and full packing list should be sent to Viola Munyoki (itucbs@ca.go.ke) if you plan to ship your exhibition equipment as soon as possible. Please include dimension of equipment, weight etc.
