International Girls in ICT Day 2014 events

This event was organized by Oracle Academy in-collaboration with VTA Sri Lanka with participation from 181 girl students from VTA centres across the island. 

The Marketing Manager, Oracle Corporate Citizenship at Oracle Corporation, Ms. Geetanjali Singh presented insights on careers in the ICT field and showed ways that the young girls could take advantage of the numerous opportunities ICTs have to offer. Director-Training, Mr. W. D. Fernando  of Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka, addressed the audience by emphasizing that Girls Can Do ICT and that there are numerous advantages in the field

About VTA Sri Lanka - Vocational Training Authority operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Developments is providing the skills training for rural youth, while implementing the skills development programs under various fields, with the participation of employees in the field of vocational training exposing the rural youth to information technology and training them for entrepreneurship development.
