 | In an era where digital technologies are deeply intertwined into the fabric of daily life and the backbone of economies worldwide, individuals, organizations, and nations face heightened vulnerability against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Globally, cyber insecurity is ranked as the fourth most severe short-term risk, according to external reports cited in the sources.
Cybersecurity is not merely a niche concern but a foundational element for digital transformation. Securing information and communication networks and fostering a culture of cybersecurity are crucial elements as the adoption and use of telecommunications/ICTs continue to rise globally.
This output report, developed in response to ITU-D Question 3/2 for the 2022-2025 study period, synthesizes national experiences and practices to assist countries in formulating robust cybersecurity strategies. It examines core areas, including promoting awareness-raising and capacity building, applying cybersecurity assurance practices, establishing and coordinating CIRTs, securing 5G networks, and addressing sophisticated threats like smishing. The report offers a strategic blueprint for building a high level of cybersecurity and securing our digital future.
