Digital Youth Forum (DYF) co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union, took place on 23 May 2019 in Warsaw, Poland. This event was organized within the framework of two ITU Regional Initiative for Europe on Accessibility, affordability and skills development for all to ensure digital inclusion and sustainable development, and Enhancing trust and confidence in the use of information and communication technologies, both approved by WTDC-17.

Digital Youth Forum (DYF) is an event designed for youth, by youth and about youth on creative and innovative
uses of new technologies and online safety. It addresses young people who are already aware they can change
the world as well as those who need support in developing their potential. DYF is a meeting of experts and
inspiration seekers, creators and consumers, activists and dreamers.

The main objective of the Forum is
• to promote creative use of new technologies and online safety
• to foster creativity, innovation, and efficacy in the field of new technologies and the internet
• to empower, inspire and motivate
• to introduce role models and mentors
• to provide opportunity for collaborations and networking
• to support youth activism that incorporates online tools and new technologies

DYF consists of three 90-minute long sessions. During each session there are 5 presentations. Speakers are young people, who use new technologies in a creative and inspiring way. They share their stories and ideas, introduce new ways of thinking, model overcoming of challenges. We also invite exceptional adult speakers – leaders and doers whose experience and career path can be motivating for young people.
The event is live streamed and recorded, videos are made available online.

DYF expected to welcome 420 teenagers (aged 14 to 17) and up to 50 professionals who work with youth. DYF is a nationwide event, last year edition gathered youth from 12 cities. In order to enrich participation experience social space offered hands on interaction with latest technologies, virtual reality, coding, robots, 3D, printers and many other attractions.

Event offered an opportunity for running the query on Child Online Protection, which’s results will be used for the purposes of the ITU Regional Initiative as well as ITU Council Working Group on Child Online Protection.
