The workshop is to strengthen the capacity of Arab countries on electronic waste (e-waste) collection, assist them in the compilation of international comparable e-waste statistics, learn about the methods of e-waste statistics, as well as to share experiences, knowledge and challenges, and to improve national coordination.
Among other issues related to E-waste statistics, the programme of the workshop will cover the following topics:
- New Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and used EEE put on the market;
- E-waste generated;
- Environmental sound management of e-waste (formal collection);
- Other e-waste recycling;
- Imports and exports of used EEE and e-waste.
