Exploring Innovation in Transactions & Financing in the Caribbean

ABOUT

This workshop has been organized in collaboration with global partners to provide the aforementioned stakeholders with critical update on developments across the globe in the areas of financial technology (FinTech) and Digital Financial Services (DFS). The ITU will facilitate the participation of leading international experts in these fields from, but not limited to;

  • Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation
  • ITU DFS Working Group
  • Commonwealth Virtual Currencies Working Group
  • World Bank

As a matter of importance to the region, the sessions are grounded in the local and regional context hence the workshop will include participation of regional bodies who have been researching these areas such as The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and UNECLAC.

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the workshop is to provide stakeholders from various sectors with interactive sessions along the theme of utilizing technology innovations towards the goal of improving financial transactions and financing arrangements.
