The Tampere Convention and Telecommunications Deployments when Disasters Strike
This course aims to raise awareness about the importance of the Tampere Convention, how to undertake the ratification process as well as implementation at the national level. The course consists of the following three modules: 1) Introduction to the Tampere Convention, 2) Ratification of the Tampere Convention, and 3) Implementation of the Tampere Convention. The course is estimated to take less than 1.5 hours to complete. On successful completion and passing of the quiz, participants will earn a badge.
Practical Disaster Response: How to Develop Table Top Simulation Exercises (TTX)
This course aims to provide guidance for developing table top simulation exercises which will help to test if NETPs and other national strategies for disaster preparedness and response are ready to be used when disasters strike. The course consists of the following five modules: 1) Introduction, 2) Pre-TTX/Plan, 3) Pre-TTX/Design and Set-up, 4) During TTX/Conduct and 5) Post TTX/Results and Follow-up. The course is estimated to take approximately 2 hours to complete. On successful completion and passing of the quiz, participants will earn a badge.
An Introduction to Developing National Emergency Telecommunication Plans
This course is aimed at providing information on how to develop National Emergency Telecommunications Plans (NETPs) through a multi-stakeholder approach that includes all phases of disaster management. The course consists of the following five modules: 1) Introduction, 2) Developing an NETP, 3) Telecommunication & ICT Legislation and Regulation for Disaster Risk Management, 4) Four Phases of Disaster Risk Management and 5) Capacity Building, Training, Drills and Support. The course is estimated to take approximately 4 hours to complete. On successful completion and passing of the quiz, participants will earn a badge.
