The Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) is a global network of organizations that work together to provide shared communications services in humanitarian emergencies. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is a global member of the ETC.
This year, ITU hosted the annual Logistics and Telecommunications Cluster (Telecoms area) Plenary Meeting on 19-20 May 2026 (09:00-18:00 Geneva), which brought together humanitarian actors, governments, UN agencies, and technical partners to strengthen preparedness, coordination, and innovation in emergency telecommunications.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss how ETC services can remain resilient, adaptable, and responsive to the evolving needs of humanitarian operations and affected communities. Participants have reviewed priorities, shared operational experience, and outlined steps to strengthen collaboration among humanitarian, governmental, and technical partners.
