Kranj, Slovenia, 2015, April 21

OpenLab is a non-profit organization. Our the main focus is to give young people access to creative environment where they can experiment, explore, gain new skills and start to think about their future careers. Our permanent workshops are dedicated to multimedia, mobile applications, Internet of things and smart sensors technology.

Within global initiative Girls and ICT Day we organized “Arduino Workshop” for girls.

Arduino is a small, easy to use, open source microcontroller that has inspired thousands of people around the world who started to do cool things - from toys to satellite equipment.

After the 3 hour workshop the participants learned to:

- connect Arduino with LED, button, resistors, thermal sensor in different ways,

- write a simple program in the Arduino environment.

The program was suitable for beginners. We provided mentors and all the equipment.

The event was organized in cooperation with MakerLab Ljubljana, Laboratory for Telecommunications and Multimedia Laboratory of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (mentor and some equipment) and the Association of Employers of Slovenia (promotion of the event).
