GIRLS IN ICT DAY 24th APRIL @ SALFORD CITY COLLEGE - PENDLETON CENTRE

On the 24th April, 1pm - 4pm, we will be holding the annual GIRLS IN ICT DAY event in the Hub at Salford City College, Pendleton Centre.

The event features lots of STEM-Related themes, including the Raspberry Pi - line-up so far includes;

• A Piece of PI (Animate and Program on a Raspberry Pi)
• Programming Challenge (Create a browser in 5 minutes)
• A taste of Apple (Try out Apple Devices – iPad Arcade Machine and Mac OSX)
• Gaming Can Be Good For You! (Dance Off and Fitness Challenges on the Xbox)
• Create Animation (Apply Stop Motion techniques with Claymation)
• Robotics (Control and Program Robots)
• Anatomy of a Computer (Build a Computer in 5 Minutes)
• 3D Aspects (Anaglyphs, Lenticular and other 3D techniques used in Digital Graphics)

Demonstrations are to be carried out by our female ICT student ambassadors (with assistants) and overseen by the female ICT teaching team.

A tablet PC will be given away on the day that will help with all homework and IT tasks.

All attending will receive a GIRLS IN ICT gift bag that contains IT accessories, stationery and other ICT related items.
