On Thursday, April 25th 2013, TATT hosted a "Careers in ICT Seminar" at the St. Jude's Home for Girls in celebration of International Girls in ICT Day. This initiative raised awareness about the opportunities available in pursuing various dynamic and exciting careers in ICT. Tertiary education institutions such as National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), College of Science, Technology & Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) and University of West Indies (UWI) were on hand to provide enrolment information and also to give these young women the opportunity to express their creative skills through the use of computer systems equipped with robotic, animation and designing software.

TATT also participated in the Ministry of Science and Technology's inaugural "Women and Girls in ICT Forum" at the National Academy of Performing Arts. This presented another wonderful opportunity for TATT to promote diversity within the ICT sector.

In addition, these fun and instructive events allowed TATT to have over 100 respondents participate in the ITU's Survey to measure the growing interest in girls pursuing careers in ICT. It also allowed TATT to promote the Young Innovators Competition 2013.

Thank you to all our volunteers, the Ministry of Science and Technology, UTT, NIHERST, COSTAATT, UWI, ITU and behind the scenes personnel for assisting TATT with these events.
