
The International Conference "Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online" was held in Warsaw, Poland on 22-23 September 2015.
The conference was organized by the Polish and German Safer Internet Centres, which have been working together within the European Commission's Safer Internet Program and will continue to cooperate within recently introduced Connecting Europe Facility Programme. The co-organizer of the conference was the International Telecommunication Union. The main partner of the event was the Orange Foundation.
The conference was held within the framework of the ITU European Regional Initiative EUR4 – Building confidence and security in the use of telecommunications/ICTs, adopted by WTDC-14, Dubai.
The conference addressed a broad spectrum of issues related to the safety of children and young people on the Internet and addressed the representatives of the education sector, NGOs, the judiciary and law enforcement agencies and Internet content service providers, the conference aimed to raise awareness about the new challenges and opportunities in fighting online threats as well as to popularize best practices across different sectors.
