Official Visit of ITU Secretary-General Mr. Houlin Zhao to Saint Peteresburg and Moscow, Russian Federation, 6-9 May 2015

 

The visit of the ITU Secretary-General, Mr. Houlin Zhao to the Russian Federation was organized at the invitation of H.E.Mr. Nikolai Nikiforov, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. Within the framework of the visit, Mr. Zhao participated in the ceremony of opening of memorial plaque of Alexander Popov in Central Communication Museum (Saint Petersburg), which bears the name of the great Russian scientist, and the ceremony of cancellation of the postage stamp dedicated to the 150th Anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). 

 

Also, Mr. Zhao took part in the joint 50th Session of the Board of RCC Communications Administrations Heads (RCC Board) and 21th Session of the Coordination Council for Informatization of the CIS Member States attached to RCC (Coordination Council), which was dated to coincide with 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the ITU 150th Anniversary, and the Day of Radio.

 

Also, Mr. Zhao along with other heads of delegations of the joint 50th Session of the RCC Board and 21th Session of the Coordination Council attended the Victory Parade at Red Square dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War, which took place on 9 May 2015.
