The Bishkek Technopark IT hub hosted the international forum "Digital Skills for All. New Faces", organized by the “Kyrgyz TechnoWomen” Public Charitable Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic and International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The purpose of the forum was to develop digital skills among the population, with a special focus on women and youth, as well as to draw attention to issues of gender equality in the field of IT, STEM and technology in traditional business.
The forum was timed to coincide with the
International Day of "Girls in ICT", which was established by the ITU and is celebrated annually in April. This date highlights the importance of increasing the participation of women and girls in the field of information and communication technology.
Key topics of the forum:
- Digital solutions for women in traditional business — using technology to grow and scale a business.
- Women and Girls in STEM — promoting and supporting women's participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
- Digital security of women — protection of rights and personal data in an online environment.
- Practical workshops — training in digital tools for career and business development.
Experts and practitioners from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and other countries participated and contributed to the event. The Forum became a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and international cooperation.
The event was attended by representatives of communities of people with disabilities, who shared their experiences and identify important aspects of participating in digital transformation. Such platforms promote open dialogue and the formation of an environment where everyone has the opportunity for development, training and professional realization.
