International Telecommunication Union Training "Launch of Next-Generation Mobile Networks (5G/IMT-2020)"

At the invitation of the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov (KSTU), the International Telecommunication Union held a training on the launch of fifth-generation mobile networks (5G/IMT-2020) in Bishkek from April 24 to 25, 2025. More than 70 specialists, teachers and students of KSTU participated in the training.

The first part of the training was devoted to a general overview of technological trends, key features of 5G/IMT-2020 networks and various aspects of the launch of 5G/IMT-2020 networks. The Director of Strategic Partnerships of GSMA in the CIS presented a report on spectrum fees and measures to support infrastructure development, and a GSMA representative from South Korea spoke about the experience of launching the first commercial 5G/IMT-2020 networks in the world.​

On the second day of the training, ITU experts covered issues of strategies for launching 5G/IMT-2020 networks and planning for shutting down legacy generation networks to focus efforts on developing 5G/IMT-2020 networks.​
