From March 23 to 27, 2026, Telecom Week 2026 took place in Yerevan. The event was organized by the Armenian Operators' Union with the support of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

As part of the ICT Week, ITU hosted two specialized sessions focused on artificial intelligence and ICT sector regulation.

On March 24, the ITU AI Forum for Digital Growth was held. Experts discussed national approaches to AI regulation, the Asia-Pacific region's experience in deploying AI solutions, and the application of artificial intelligence in telecommunications networks and cybersecurity. Presentations were delivered by representatives of ITU, Armenia's Ministry of High-Tech Industry, Ucom telecommunications company, and international experts from GSMA and Noventiq.

On March 25, attention shifted to an ICT regulation seminar. Participants examined methodologies for calculating base prices in 5G spectrum auctions, best practices in telecom infrastructure sharing, international experiences in the phased sunset of 2G/3G networks, and findings from a RIPE NCC study on the connectivity of South Caucasus countries. More than 200 professionals took part in the events, including representatives of government agencies, regulators (including Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission), telecom operators, technology companies, the academic community, and international organizations.

ICT Week in Yerevan enabled participants to exchange up-to-date knowledge and best practices in regulation and digital innovation, strengthen dialogue between regulators, operators, and international experts, and outline concrete steps toward the adoption of emerging technologies.
