​Training on Satellite Communication (​Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan​, 8-9 September 2026)

On September 8–9, 2026, a seminar "Satellite Communications: Regulatory and Technical Aspects" will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The event is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications, with the support of the Communications Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The objective of the training is to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required by modern industry standards, enhance professional qualifications, and help them remain competitive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. The event aims to address the growing demand for highly skilled professionals in the fields of satellite communications and space technologies.

The Training Seminar is designed for representatives of regulatory authorities, satellite operators, and other industry stakeholders to explore issues of satellite communications regulation, electromagnetic compatibility in satellite systems, and modern satellite communications technologies.​ Participation in the seminar is free of charge for all interested parties.

The two-day program will cover the regulation of satellite communications, legal frameworks, licensing and spectrum management, electromagnetic compatibility in satellite systems, modern technologies and solutions, as well as the deployment of satellite communications in the countries of the region.

​​To encourage participation of developing countries​ and subject to availability of funds, one full fellowship may be granted per eligible Member State, within the CIS region only. Full fellowships will cover the air ticket (one return economy class ticket by the most direct/economical route from the country of origin to the meeting venue), and appropriate daily subsistence allowance intended to cover accommodation, meals and incidental expenses. Member States shall cover the remainder of the cost of the participation.​​

​Fellowship application should be done via online form by 28 July 2026 (23:59 hours, Geneva, Switzerland) at the very latest. Registration prior to submitting the fellowship request is mandatory.
