ITU Training on Artificial Intelligence Governance and Use Cases (​Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 3-4 September 2026)

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, is organizing a two-day offline training in Dushanbe. The event is delivered as part of the ITU Expertise on Demand assistance program.

Event Context:

Digital transformation has been identified as a strategic priority for national development in Tajikistan. Under the declared "Years of Digital Economy and Innovation" (2025–2030) and the adopted National AI Strategy to 2040, Tajikistan aims to become a regional digital hub, with a primary objective of achieving 5% of the country's GDP from AI-related economic activities.

Training Objectives: 
  • Review key approaches to public policy and the regulation of Artificial Intelligence. 
  • Explore approaches to automating communication networks using AI and examine global use cases across various economic sectors. 
  • Discuss capacity building and personnel training in the age of AI. 
  • Identify how governments and regulators can help accelerate AI adoption at the national level. 

Target Audience: representatives of government agencies responsible for public policy, regulators, telecom operators, IT companies, as well as experts from universities and R&D institutions.​
