As an experienced central banking professional, Rehan has been involved in the development of strategies and regulatory policies around technology innovation in digital financial services to better manage risks, enhance efficiency and strengthen competitiveness in payments technology sector. During his 15 years at State Bank of Pakistan, Rehan has worked in the areas of Banking Policy, Alternate Delivery Channels such as Branchless & Mobile Banking, Business Process Outsourcing, Technology Governance, and cybersecurity & fraud risk management. He led the development of SBP’s Enterprise Technology Governance & Risk Management Framework for Financial Institutions which provides baseline security requirements to financial institutions for the use of technology. Currently, Rehan is involved with payments oversight team responsible to oversee adherence to CPMI-IOSCO’s Principles of Financial Market Infrastructure (PFMI) in Pakistan. He is also working on SBP’s developmental strategies for digital financial services including digital currencies (including CBDCs), open finance, application security and instant payments systems. Rehan has a degree in computer science and finance. He is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). |
