International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized “Pacific Radiocommunication Workshop 2018 (PRW-18)” held in Honiara,
Solomon Islands from 4 – 6 September 2018.
Objectives and Target:
The workshop is kindly hosted by Ministry of Communication and Aviation of
Solomon Islands and is supported by Pacific
Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) and Ministry of Science and
ICT (MSIT)-Republic of Korea. The
event aims to bring together senior level staff
from
policy makers, regulators, Industry and academia for discussions on key
spectrum management issues, including but not limited to:
- National Spectrum Management and Frequency Allocation Strategies for Pacific
- Trends in Spectrum Management
- International Radio Regulations
- Maritime wireless communication
- Spectrum pricing and award strategy to ensure a competitive and innovative market
- Spectrum Management systems automation (including SMS4DC and other SM systems)
- Half-Day workshop on SMS4DC: Introducing v5.1 of SMS4DC and launching of high resolution maps for Pacific

Notes on Participation:
- Registration of the event would strictly be done online through the registration link HERE.
- To facilitate participation, ITU is pleased to provide one partial fellowship for each eligible country from ITU membership from Pacific Island States, subject to availability of funds, with preference to those related applicants who would be able to share the national Spectrum Management practices during the workshop. Applicants requesting fellowships are required to submit their fellowship request forms duly signed by their respective Administrations no later than 20th August 2018.
SMS4DC
Workshop: Participants are requested to bring
your computing device (Laptop etc) along with the hard Dongle key. ITU would
try to have limited extra dongles however in all cases the participant has to
bring in his/her own laptop.
