NoW in ITU-D Arab Region


A six-week online masterclass series was launched on 31 August and concludes on 28 September 2026. The programme, organized by the Arab States Office with support from ITU membership in the region, brought together 35 women from the Arab States. Key focus areas:
  • ITU structures and international ICT governance
  • Strategic lead​ership and institutional representation
  • Communication and self-advocacy​
  • Business diplomacy and strategic partnerships
  • Multicul​tural communication​​
Through interactive sessions led by experts and senior practitioners, the initiative aims to strengthen women's professional competencies, confidence, visibility, and ability to represent their institutions effectively in international and multicultural settings.

Under the theme "Artificial Intelligence for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future - 2026", the event engaged 30 girls aged 6-18 from Libya, encouraging their participation in emerging technology fields and promoting digital skills development.

Held at the General Authority for Communications and Informatics (GACI) in Tripoli under the theme "Women in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation - 2025", the event brought together:
  • More than 75 female professionals
  • A GACI expert panel
  • Participants in technical workshops and interactive dialogues
The discussions highlighted the critical role of women in innovation, digital policy and cybersecurity. The event fostered networking, knowledge-sharing, and dialogue on advancing women's participation in the digital sector.
