Network of Women ITU-D’s Arab Chapter: MasterClass Series on Women Leadership

​The Network of Women in ITU-D's Arab Chapter is proud to launch a Masterclass Series on Women Leadership, a six-week programme designed to equip women in our region with the skills, confidence, and strategic insight needed to lead in the ICT and international relations space. 

 OBJECTIVES

From understanding ITU structures and mandates to strategic leadership and institutional representation, communication and self-advocacy, business diplomacy, and cross-cultural collaboration, the Series will:

  • ​Build participants' understanding of ITU structures, mandates, and the ICT governance landscape.
  • Prepare participants to assume leadership positions and represent their institutions with credibility.
  • Strengthen public speaking, self-advocacy, and visibility for women in ICT diplomacy.
  • Develop skills to engage the private sector and build strategic, cross-sector partnerships.
  • Build cultural intelligence and inclusive communication for multicultural, multistakeholder settings.

 
MASTERCLASS INFORMATION
 
Dates: 31 August – 28 September 2026

Format: Six weekly live sessions, held online on Zoom

Open to: All women across ITU Memberships from the Arab States and the Network of Women in ITU-D Arab Chapter mailing list

Registration: Register your interest through this Registration Form by 27 August 2026, 4pm Cairo Time.

Online registration is required to participate in the six-week programme.​

PROGRAMME CALENDAR

 

Week 1 · Session 1: Introduction to ITU

31 August, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Cairo Time

Facilitator: Karim Abdelghani

Objective: Equip participants with a strong understanding of ITU structures, mandates, and role in international relations in the ICT.

 
Week 2 · Session 2: Strategic Leadership & Institutional Representation

2 September, 11:00 AM Cairo Time

Facilitator: Chris Hirst

Objective: Prepare participants to assume leadership positions and become credible representatives of their institutions.


Week 3 · Session 3: Communication, Self-Advocacy & Visibility

7 September, 3:00 – 5:00 PM Cairo Time

Facilitator: Angela Solomon

Objective: Empower participants to articulate their contributions, enhance visibility, and amplify their influence.


Week 4 · Session 4: Communication, Self-Advocacy & Visibility — Part II

14 September, 3:00 – 5:00 PM Cairo Time

Week 5 · Session 5: Working with the Private Sector: Business Diplomacy and Strategic Partnerships

21 September, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Cairo Time

Facilitator: Sara Abo Amro and Eslam Aboudonia, Ericsson

Objective: Enable participants to understand the strategic priorities of private-sector stakeholders and develop the skills to build mutually beneficial partnerships that advance digital development and the Sustainable Development Goals.


Week 6 · Session 6: Multicultural and Cross-Cultural Communications

 28 September, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Cairo Time

Facilitator: Marta Brzezińska-Hubert

Objective: Strengthen participants' ability to communicate effectively across cultures, build inclusive professional relationships, and navigate cultural differences in international and multistakeholder environments.
