Biography of ​Mr. Md. Giashuddin Ahmed

Mr. Md. Giashuddin Ahmed is the Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), an independent Commission of Bangladesh Government, responsible for formulation and enforcement of telecommunication policies and regulations.

Mr. Ahmed is the elected Chairman of Asia pacific Telecommunication and ICT Development Forum since August 2013 that works for 38 Asia and Pacific developing countries where policy makers, regulators and other relevant officials from the region come together on a common platform for a dialogue on issues of common concern with special attention on the rural areas.

Mr Ahmed has 40 years’ experience, started his career as Assistant Secretary in the Administrative Cadre of Civil Service of Bangladesh and retired as Secretary to the Government.. During his colorful career he worked at the field level as District Commissioner in two districts.  He served as Secretary to the Government and was Project Director of Asrayan Project and Adarsha Gram Project that worked for rehabilitation and poverty alleviation of thousands of families in Bangladesh.

Mr Ahmed is a regular columnist and contributes in the leading National and International Dailies. He has publications in reputed English Journals also.
