Regional Development Forums and WTDC 2014 Regional Preparatory Meetings

Resolution 31 (Rev. Hyderabad, 2010) calls for the organization of one development conference or regional preparatory meeting per region to coordinate, at the regional level, the preparations for the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC). In 2013, the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) staged six Regional Preparatory Meetings (RPM). All RPMs were preceded by a Regional Development Forum, to facilitate their preparation.

CIS

WTDC 14 Regional Preparatory Meeting for CIS took place from 19 to 21 February 2013 in Chisinau, Moldova, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for CIS on 18 February.

Asia & the Pacific

WTDC 14 Regional Preparatory Meeting for Asia and the Pacific took place from 30 April to 2nd May 2013 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for Asia and the Pacific on 29 April.

Americas

WTDC 14 Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Americas took place from 20 to 22 August 2013 in Montevideo, Uruguay, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for the Americas on 19 August.

Africa

WTDC 14 Regional Preparatory Meeting for Africa took place from 2nd to 4th October in Accra, Ghana, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for Africa on 1st October.

Arab Region

WTDC 14 Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Arab Region took place from 29 to 31 October 2013 in Bahrain, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for the Arab Region on 28 October.

Europe

WTDC 14 Regional Preparatory Meeting for Europe took place from 26 to 28 November 2013 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, preceded by the Regional Development Forum for Europe on 25 November.
