COP has been created as an international collaborative network for action (comprised of UN agencies and other partners) to promote the online protection of children worldwide. The key to success in this global initiative is partnership. While it will never be possible to completely remove all risks, drawing together an effective package that includes policies and practices; education and training; infrastructure and technology; and awareness and communication can go a long way in tackling the problem. COP is based on a multi-stakeholder approach and the belief that every organization — whether online or mobile, educator or legislator, technical expert or industry body — has something to contribute.

ITU is working with the following organizations on COP:

  • Children's Charities' Coalition on Internet Safety
  • Child Helpline International (CHI)
  • Cyber Peace Initiative
  • European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA)
  • European Broadcasting Union (EBU)
