But progress has not been fast enough — too many people are still waiting too long. m-Powering Development Initiative: Turning Opportunities into Reality explores how the opportunities can best be harnessed for further economic and social development. Drawing on examples of inspiring projects and initiatives, the report sets out to show how everyone can benefit if the right technologies are identified, regulatory and technical barriers broken down and incentives put in place for connectivity and uptake. It illustrates the importance of the opportunities and asks who can help transform them into reality.
