Wonki Min, Republic of Korea
Assistant Minister, Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP)

Mr Wonki Min is an Assistant Minister with the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP). In June 2013, the Korean Government nominated Mr Min to be Chairman-Designate of the International Telecommunications Union's 19th Plenipotentiary Conference.

Mr Min has more than 25 years' public service experience with the Korean Government and International Organizations. He has specialized in Korean ICT policy-development at MSIP, the Korea Communications Commission, and the Ministry of Information and Communication. Mr Min served as MSIP Spokesperson (2013), Head of the Central Radio Management Office (2007-2008), Director of the Policy Coordination Division (2005-2006), Director of the International Policy Division (2003-2004), Director of the Software Industry Division (2003), Director of the Telecommunications Competition Policy Division (2002), and Chief Secretary to the Minister (2001-2002).

He also served as Senior ICT Policy Specialist at the World Bank (2010-2012), Senior ICT Expert at UN-APCICT/ESCAP (2006-2007), Chair (2003-2004) and Vice-Chair (2002-2003) of the OECD Telecommunications and Information Services Policy Working Party, and Project Manager at the OECD (1998-2000).

Mr Min holds an MBA from the University of Washington (USA), an MA in Public Administration from Seoul National University (Rep. of Korea) and a BA in History from Yonsei University (Rep. of Korea).

Mr Min is a married father of two sons. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and watching classic movies.
