Registration - Badging
Information related Council Working Groups registration can be found at http://www.itu.int/en/council/Pages/Registration.aspx.
Confirmation of registration and identification badges
After completing the online form, you will receive an acknowledgement of your request to participate in the meeting(s), which cannot be considered as a validation of the request. An e-confirmation will be sent to you as soon as your request is approved by your Focal Point (DFP) or by the ITU. It will contain your registration identification number (ID) as well as detailed information on where and when to collect your badge.
Unless otherwise specified, the registration desk is located in the entrance of the
ITU Montbrillant (M) building at 2 rue de Varembé, Geneva.
Visa Support – for meetings taking place in Switzerland only
Citizens of some countries must obtain a visa in order to enter Switzerland. Visa applications must be submitted to the Swiss foreign mission closest to their place of residence
at least four (4) weeks prior to the planned travel date. Please be aware that delays in applying for a visa might considerably vary depending on the country of residence, and we therefore strongly advise participants to carefully check the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) website below, and deposit their application as early as possible:
Swiss Confederation - Federal Office for Migration
The ITU may assist confirmed participants with a visa support document (which does not replace the visa application): details for visa support must be completed directly on the online registration form. The following information will be requested on the form:
- Name on passport
- Date and place of birth
- Passport number
- Passport issuance and expiry dates
- Passport country of issuance
Once the participant's registration request has been validated by the DFP, the visa support procedure will follow automatically (under condition that the visa part was correctly completed online). Please allow up to
21 days for a confirmation of support to be provided by ITU. The visa assistance will be sent directly to the DFP (not the participant) who will have the responsability to forward it to the participant. Finally, kindly note that the ITU Secretariat cannot intervene to obtain entry visas to Switzerland issued at the airport.
Webcast
Meetings of the Council, Council Working Groups and Committee meetings will be audio-webcasted and can be followed from an internet-connected laptop or PC. Access to audio-feeds is restricted to TIES users, except for Open consultations when open to all stakeholders.
Links to the webcast are normally added the day before the meetings start on the webpage of the corresponding group.
Remote Participation
Remote participation will be made available for Council Working Groups, Expert Groups and Committee meetings; since 2020 and following COVID-19 period, remote participation has also started to be offered for Council sessions. Participants are invited to inform the ITU secretariat, upon online registration, if they wish to participate remotely.
Please note the following:
- Use your TIES credentials to join the virtual meeting (if you do not possess a TIES access, please go to TIES services).
- Make sure you are sitting in a quiet place where there is a landline phone and good quality webcam.
- Once you are in the virtual room, you will be able to listen to the meeting audio through computer speakers, see the video and presentations from the room and communicate with the remote conference host.
