The ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) celebrated its 25th Anniversary on 11 October in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Anniversary was an opportunity not only to celebrate ITU-D's achievements but also to reflect on the future.
Two interactive Ministerial Roundtables were held. The roundtables featured thought leaders who discussed the impact of ICTs for SDGs and debated the future of the digital economy. There were high-level interventions at the minister and head of regulatory authority level as well as contributions from representatives of the private sector, civil society, technical community and academia.
During the Ministerial Roundtable on ICT④SDGs the "ICT-centric economic growth, innovation and job creation" book was launched.
The highlight of the celebration was a Gala Dinner held at Alvear Icon Hotel, which was graced by delegates attending the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-17).
