Workshop on emerging technologies for innovative universal connectivity solutions: policy, economic, and technical aspects

 The ITU MSIT Workshop on innovative technologies, hosted during IPEC-25, had focus on the following aspects:  transformative technologies regulatory aspects and emerging technologies including AI technology aspects and their societal impact, promotes the sharing of information on practical innovative technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, to address connectivity challenges. 9:00- 9:15 Session 1. Emerging Technologies and its impact to Digital Transformation

  • Summary: Introd​uction ITU/BDT AI-driven tools: ITU’s Connectivity Planning Platform (CPP); Retrieval augmented generation RAG/chatbot talking to ITU data on infrastructure; AI-models for ICT infrastructure detection based on satellite imagery. Review of key Emerging Technologies for the context of universal connectivity: 5G, LEO orbits; Cloud; Blockchain; Quantum computingOpportunities and challenges associated with Emerging Technologies.
