Vienna Cyber Security Week 2019

The third edition of Vienna Cyber Security Week themed  "Protecting Critical Infrastructure" was held in Vienna, Austria, from 11 to 15 March 2019.

Within the framework of the ITU Regional Initiative for Europe on Enhancing Trust and Confidence in the use of ICTs, adopted by the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2017 (WTDC-17), Buenos Aires, the Conference was co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) with the Energypact Foundation as the lead coordinator.

This five day conference brought together national and international stakeholders in critical infrastructure and in cyber security for conducting information exchange, confidence building and enhancing awareness of the risks and state of practice for digital system protection. The conference had ​four thematic thrusts:

  • Diplomacy – exploring international and cross border issues for critical infrastructure protection (CIP) and cyber security
  • Technology – discussing the growth of the digital world and implementation of digital systems and their protection
  • Business – examining business risks, solutions, and opportunities in the digital world
  • Science – presenting the current R&D in digital system security
