On April 25-26, 2023, the Central Eurasia Venture Summit took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, which was organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Startup Central Eurasia platform, with the support of Future Laboratory (Georgia). The main focus of the event was to develop and enhance the venture capital market in the Central Eurasia region. Over 60 participants attended the summit, including representatives from ministries and agencies responsible for the development of the innovation sector, innovation agencies, technoparks, business incubators, gas pedals, venture and angel funds, and startups. The attendees deliberated on the ongoing programs implemented in Central Eurasia to promote venture financing in the region, enhance startups' competitiveness, and their entry into global markets.

The event featured presentations from key players from the region and neighboring countries. Successful startups from Central Eurasia showcased their projects to investors from Kazakhstan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, the United States, and the Czech Republic. The participants also had the chance to organize brief meetings with venture and angel funds, and the first day of the event concluded with a demo session featuring successful startups from the region.

The summit featured renowned venture market experts such as Robin Butler from Sturgeon Capital (UK), Mustafa Kopuk from DOMiNO Ventures (Netherlands/Turkey), Milan Lupak from Presto Ventures (Czech Republic), Levan Shalamberidze from IFC (Singapore/Georgia), and others. They discussed the present trends in the venture capital market, and shared their knowledge, best practices, and successful cases from the region.

It is noteworthy that the Startup Central Eurasia platform, supported by the ITU, brings together startup ecosystems in the Central Eurasia region and provides a platform for entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts to collaborate, share knowledge, and access resources. By promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, the platform encourages economic growth and creates new opportunities for the region.

The Central Eurasia Venture Summit has become a significant event in the startup ecosystem of the region. The recommendations received during the summit will be utilized in the Startup Central Eurasia Ecosystem Ranking 2023 report, which will be published in June 2023.
