The global celebration of International Girls in ICT Day 2022 was held on 28 April 2022 and took the form of a High-Level Panel in all regions of the ITU Telecom Development Sector.
In the CIS Region the celebration of Girls in ICT Day supported by NoW4WTDC, and the following festive events was held:
- regional online dialogue on “Skills development – What are we offering” (9:00-10:00 CET), which was part of the Girls in ICT Day global celebration;
- regional round table dedicated to the International Girls in ICT Day.
The celebrations raised awareness of the gender digital divide, promoted STEM education and digital skills training, and promoted ICT careers among girls and young women. The events was held in a hybrid format and benefited from Russian-English interpretation.
All activities are united by the theme «Access and Security» and was aimed at overcoming the barriers faced by girls in the digital environment.
