ARB3: Enhancing emergency telecommunication preparedness and response in the Arab States region
Objective: To strengthen emergency preparedness and disaster resilience in the Arab States region through the integration of resilient telecommunication systems, inclusive early warning mechanisms and regional coordination frameworks.
This initiative leverages cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile-based alerting, while addressing existing gaps in national capacities and regional cooperation.
Impact: Enhanced disaster resilience will protect lives and livelihoods, reduce vulnerabilities to natural and human-induced disasters, and improve the efficiency of emergency responses. By integrating advanced telecommunications into early warning systems, communities will be better prepared to mitigate the impact of disasters.
