The fourth edition of "Accessible Arab Region - ICTs for All" was a flagship event co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the
United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). Graciously hosted by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) of Jordan, the event took place from April 29 to 30, 2025, at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Amman, Jordan, featuring two days of dynamic activities, including a capacity-building session on digital accessibility.
This event was one of the key regional priorities for both ITU and ESCWA, providing a dedicated platform for knowledge-sharing and dialogue among stakeholders across the Arab region. It focused on the requirements, standards, and principles of inclusive design for digital accessibility and the empowerment of all individuals through ICTs.
Key objectives include:
- Supporting UN Member States and regional stakeholders in their efforts to implement and mainstream digital accessibility.
- Sharing best practices, enhancing capacities, and addressing challenges to promote inclusive digital ecosystems.
- Facilitating networking and fostering partnerships among policymakers, industry leaders, and advocates to advance digital inclusion.
With a commitment to ensuring digital inclusion for all, regardless of age, gender, ability, or geographic location, the event aimed to leverage technology to break down barriers and create equitable opportunities in the Arab region.
Accessible Arab Region: ICT for ALL – 2025 was conducted in Arabic, English, and French, with local sign language interpretation provided.
