In light of the preparations by the UN country teams in the region to develop a Common Country Assessments (CCAs) and a UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UN SDCF), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) would like to explore opportunities for collaboration and engagement.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, we at ITU took notice of the accelerated efforts by governments regionally and globally to digitally transform and provide meaningful connectivity to all their citizens. Naturally, Ministries of communications and information technologies along with telecom regulators are at the heart of these efforts. As ITU is the UN specialized agency for information and communication technologies we are supporting member states and stakeholders in this effort.
With this background, ITU is holding this virtual webinar on its role and focus on ITU in the Arab region and more importantly, to highlight areas where ITU can contribute in the processes for the CCAs and UNDCFs. The session will take place on
February 18th at 12:00 to 14:00 Cairo Local Time.
