International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in collaboration with the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority of Sudan (TPRA) in Khartoum will organize the regional Train of Trainers (ToT) course on IPv6 and IoT for the Arab States to be conducted in Sudan, during 1-2 Nov. 2021 (Physical and Online (09 am to 4 pm Khartoum time). The ToT training is being implemented as part of the launch of the ITU’s regional IPv6 and IoT Expertise Centre for Arab Region to be established in Sudan and under the umbrella of the Framework Cooperation Agreement signed between ITU and TPRA-Sudan on IPv6 and IoT. The training will be delivered in English.
The center and the course are aiming to assist Member States by supporting smooth and well managed transition from Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) for Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure, IPv6 for 5G, IPv6 for Industry 4.0, services and applications deployments, raising awareness through conducting theory and practical sessions.
By the end of this ToT training, the participants can get the following knowledges and skills:
- IPv6 addressing architecture and its deployment scenarios
- IoT concepts and terminologies
- IPv6 and IoT security issues
- Building block of IoT architecture
- IoT case studies and future predictions
- Hands-on Labs on configuring IPv6, demonstration of several IPv6 attacks, setup the testbed for IoT and WiFi for IoT security test
This ToT course is recommended for IPv6 practitioner, IT managers, IoT designers, IoT developers, IoT implementers and anyone who is ready to master the steps required to implement IPv6 and IoT based Networks. The selection for the participation in this training will be based on the following criteria:
- Participants should have a first level university degree (Bachelor of Sciences) in telecom engineering or related field,
- Have at least 3 years of hands-on experiences in IP related issues.
