As part of its efforts to improve access to telecommunications in the developing world, the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) manages an expert service which recruits specialists from the public and private sectors to assist on missions requiring a high level of expertise in a particular field. According to needs, experts may be selected from a wide variety of specialties, including transmission, switching, mobile communications, radio and satellite communications, spectrum management, NGN migration, IPTV, analog to digital migration, digital broadcasting, emergency, national telecommunication sector restructuring and telecommunication regulation.
