Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with the National Directorate of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Communication Services (DINATEL) of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay, this regional seminar will be held in Montevideo from 12-13 August 2026 to promote the development of young digital talent across the Americas. The event will mark the celebration of International Youth Day 2026 and aims to promote youth as a strategic group to drive digital innovation in the Americas, highlighting the importance of capacity building in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to close gaps in the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

The objective of this event is to raise awareness and share knowledge on digital inclusion, digital skills and competencies for the rapidly evolving digital economy and to offer a multistakeholder platform for the exchange of experiences and best practices on youth's contribution to digital innovation and digital development in the Americas region.

2026 edition of Priorities for Youth in the Digital World: Young Digital Talent for Emerging Technologies will be conducted
exclusively in person. All participants are required to
