ITU Policy and Economic Colloquium - ITU Americas IPEC 2020

IPEC 2020 

The ITU Policy and Economic Colloquium 2020 - ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2020 – 5 to 7 October 2020, was held Online. This activity was organized by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT), in close collaboration with the Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (OSIPTEL) of Peru. The first day was the Webinar COVID-19: Challenges and opportunities for Telecommunications/ICT in the Americas Region T. The ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2020 also benefit from the presence of international experts involved in the work of ITU-D Study Group 1 Question 4/1 (Economic policies and methods of determining the costs of services related to national telecommunication/ICT networks)​ through the holding of the Experts’ Knowledge Exchange on related topics, held on Wednesday 7 October.

The ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2020 focused, among other interesting subjects, on connecting the unconnected in a digital converged world, the economic and financial issues in a converged broadband environment and the new challenges in the digital ecosystem. Participants were invited to make presentations or participate as panellists to illustrate the situation in their countries on these issues, in order to promote dialogue and exchange of experiences.

IPEC Americas 2020
 was addressed to ITU Member States; ITU-D Sector Members, Associates and Academia; Regional organizations in the Americas region; National Regulatory Authorities of ITU Member States.

This collloquium was organized by ITU and hosted by the Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (OSIPTEL) of Peru.​​
