The Grand Bahama Tech Summit & ITU’s Caribbean Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IOT), Policies and Regulations, Freeport, 28-30 October, 2019

Because of the “unprecedented” devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian to some islands of the Bahamas, all resources are directed toward provision of supplies, relief and recovery for the people of the Bahamas.

The Bahamas Tech Summit and ITU AI event planned for 28 - 30th October is therefore officially postponed to 2020 to a date still to be announced.

The event in 2020 would be part of the economic rebuilding exercise for the country and from ITU we are confident that you will be interested in contributing and being part of this event.

ABOUT

The “Caribbean Event on Artificial Intelligence (Ai), Digital Financing (DF), Internet of Things (IOT) and Related Polices and Regulations which will be held at the Grand Lucayan Convention Center in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas, from 27th to 30th October 2019. The event is co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with the Government of the Bahamas. The event will cover the next major phase of wireless and mobile telecommunications standards beyond the current 4G/IMT-Advanced standards while introducing the most dominant technologies and architectures. Issues related to the regulation of these new eco-systems will also be discussed - technological landscape aspects and inherent challenges.

PURPOSE

This event seeks to provide a platform to discuss trends in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Financing and Internet of Things while at the same time providing a platform to discuss some of the potential opportunities and challenges that the Caribbean region may face as it relates to policies, regulations and investments in this dynamic new era.
